What Is Solitaire?

Solitaire also known as Patience, is a single-player card game that has been a staple on computer systems and in physical card decks for decades. The game's origins can be traced back to the 18th century, and its enduring popularity is a testament to its simplicity and addictive nature.

Game Rules:

1. Objective: The primary objective of Solitaire is to build four foundation piles, each representing one suit (hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades), in ascending order from Ace to King.

2. Setup: A standard 52-card deck is used. The cards are shuffled, and seven piles, known as tableau piles, are dealt. The first pile has one face-up card, the second has two (one face down, one face up), and so on, with the seventh pile having seven cards (one face down, six face up).

3. Movement of Cards: Cards can be moved between tableau piles based on descending rank and alternating colors. For example, a red 7 can be placed on a black 8, and vice versa.

4. Foundation Piles: As cards are revealed in the tableau, Aces can be moved to start the foundation piles. Subsequent cards of the same suit are then added in ascending order.

5. Stock and Waste Pile: The remaining cards form the stock, and the top card is turned face up to create the waste pile. Players can draw from the stock and use the cards in the waste pile to build tableau and foundation piles.

6. Winning the Game: The game is won when all four foundation piles are complete, with each pile containing cards of the same suit arranged in ascending order from Ace to King.
